San Diego is unlike most other cities in the United States simply due to its beauty. Located right on the Pacific Coast, it lacks a lot of the pollution that its neighbor Los Angeles puts out. Instead, San Diego is home to many technological manufacturing operations, including many in the biotech industry. In fact, the city has the largest biotech cluster to be found in the United States.

Rounding out the top three industries is the tourism sector. Almost everyone has heard of the San Diego zoo, and that's just one of the many things to do in the San Diego area. Last but not least on our list of things people look for in a city is the entertainment. The fact that San Diego is a major tourist center should tell you that there are plenty of things to do in the city. Seaworld and Legoland draw the attention of thousands of people every year.
