You might say that people with a zip in San Diego are among the luckiest in the United States today. Why? Well, for one thing the city is doing relatively well economically compared to many others in the country. As the second biggest city in the state of California, San Diego enjoys a diversified economy which has held up well even during the current recession. There are still plenty of jobs whether in blue collar work such as manufacturing shrink sleeve for packaging or white collar, service industry type jobs.

Beyond the economy and the healthy population, though, San Diego is a happy city because of the incredible weather the city enjoys almost every day of the year. A southern location means that San Diego is usually free of the weather that is a Canadian trade mark up north; there is very little snow and very few days where the temperature drops below freezing.

Location along the Pacific Ocean makes living in San Diego even more advantageous. Residents can take off their lead aprons after a hard day of work, throw on their swim suits, and head to one of the many beaches which dot the San Diego shoreline.

In fact, San Diego is noted internationally for the beauty and prevalence of its beaches. Unlike the other well noted beach state of Florida, California's beaches are distinct and well defined. The mountains for which the state is noted often separate one beach from the next, so you have the option of picking from a number of different sites when you go to the beach for the day. Some are best suited to bathers, some to surfers, some for children and families, and some for photographing.

For example, if you have been to a day spa in Toronto, you may have seen pictures on the wall of La Jolla Cove. This beach is one of the most photographed of any beach in the world. A short walk away from a major shopping area, it retains a sense of isolation from the busier parts of the city. It is bordered by cliffs on both sides, and is a very popular option amongst San Diego's wealthier residents. It's also a great place to go snorkeling, with an abundance of underwater wildlife protected by the state government; look, but don't touch!

If training for scuba diving is on your itinerary after a day working with fuse holders in Sand Diego, you might want to head to La Jolla Shores. These mile long beach is known for its gentle surf, perhaps the mildest in the city during the summer months. That means it's a great place for beginning divers as well as for families with younger children.
