Other malls that can help you give your pocketbook a workout are Westfield Horton Plaza, Westfield University Town Center, and San Diego's newest shopping center, Otay Ranch Town Center. Between them you will find everything from an ice rink to some amazing architecture.

San Diego has an awesome collection of outlet malls for those who like to add the thrill of bargain shopping to the experience. You may need the help of some strapping machinery to get all of your purchases in the car and back home. Viejas Outlet Center, Carlsbad Premium Outlets, and Las Americas Premium Outlets are your best bets. There are usually savings of between 25% and 65% of merchandise in stores like J. If you're looking for something a little more unique, than there are several districts of the city where you can find a variety of specialty shops. Hillcrest is also a popular shopping venue for those looking for something a little more original and is also the center of the LGBT community of San Diego. The best part is that you usually don't need to cash in your platinum bullion stocks to be able to afford something perfect in these little shops.

Many of the historic districts of the city also double as great shopping locations. Seaport Village is a great way to spend some money while experiencing some of the area's waterfront.
